New expansion kits for the CSC-Tool have extended its capability, enabling workshops equipped with a CSC-Tool and mega macs diagnostic device combination to calibrate the cameras and sensors used by more than 80% of vehicles equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assist Systems).
Already boasting the broadest coverage of vehicle brands in comparison with other ADAS calibration tools currently available in the marketplace, with out-of-the-box compatibility with camera-based ADAS used by Volkswagen Audi Group (VAG) and Mercedes models, the new expansion kits further extend the CSC-Tool’s capability.
The CSC Kit Camera includes 6 new calibration panels, which provide coverage for another 8 manufacturers, including Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Lexus, Mazda, Nissan, Renault and Toyota.
Meanwhile 2 new radar expansion kits, known simply as Radar Kit I and Radar Kit II, enable calibration of the radar sensors (both with and without mirror systems) used by the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assist Systems) on BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen-Audi Group models.
The new camera and radar expansion kits enable workshops using a CSC-Tool in combination with a mega macs diagnostic device, to carry out static and dynamic calibration for more than 80% of vehicles currently equipped with ADAS technology such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).
With new, tougher criteria being introduced by Euro NCAP this year, which mean that new vehicles must be equipped with both AEB and LDW to achieve its coveted 5 star safety rating, it is widely predicted that ADAS will become a common feature on the majority of new passenger cars.
